Archive for October, 2010

As the work has been progressing on the sanctuary, we have continued to meet in Fellowship Hall on Sunday mornings for our time of worship. We had a great time this past Sunday learning some reasons why we should come to church- if you weren’t able to be there, or want to listen again, go visit the Listen Online page. You can also download the mp3 file if you want to listen later.

Okay, don’t forget to mark this one down if you haven’t already:

AppleFest

(our annual Harvest Pot Luck and Apple Dessert Competition)

This Saturday, October 23

6:00 in Fellowship Hall

Please bring a dish to share, and if you would like to bring an apple dessert for our “competition”, start cooking those apples!

We can always use more judges (the bonus is you get to have dessert first!)

This is always a really fun evening, bring a friend!

Thank you to all those who stayed and took part in our congregational meeting on Sunday. Some of the more important highlights:

We unanimously affirmed that Tim Kopko will serve as our Moderator and Alicia Moeller will serve as Trustee- thank you to both for using your gifts!

We also unanimously welcomed Catherine and Spencer Scott into membership. The Scotts have been an important part of our family for a long time and we sure do thank God for them.

Updates on the sanctuary and carpet projects were given, we hope to be back in the sanctuary for worship the first weekend in November.

A special thank you to Shannon Walker for leading us at our meeting- we are very thankful for the continuing sense of unity that God has given us!

The construction project continues in the sanctuary, but because we had such a great time of worship in Fellowship Hall this past Sunday, we are going to do it again this coming Sunday, Oct. 10.

Join together for worship at 10:30, and if able, bring something for our “pot-luck breakfast”.

We’re learning that WE are the church, so come on out on Sunday and let’s have fun living it out!

If you can help set up, come about 9:30- thank you!

We have been learning what it means to be the church, and Sunday was a great time to reinforce these lessons! After reading the description of the early church in Acts 2, we lived it out by sharing food, song, teaching and prayer. To put it simply, we had a blast!
